Ohio State croc charms are great mementos of the Buckeyes' great athletic success. They're the mascot of the school's football team. Chris was designed by an art student in 1965, and the mascot's name was chosen in a contest. The first design was of a ram, or "hardened bowling ball." Later, the head was changed to look more like a prune. Look at this website was not adopted until 1975, when the mascot was changed to a more iconic croc.
